Quick Buying Tips for Antique Copper and Brass

Antique copper and brass sometimes can be tricky to buy.  Especially when the piece becomes so tarnished or oxidized it's difficult to decipher between the two.  Copper was usually used for cooking purposes and the designs were usually simpler than brass pieces.  This is a general rule not a sure thing!!   A lot of antique brass has makers marks like silver.  These marks help identify the age and the country.  This is not always the case, as with silver.  Some brass may be signed as I have seen with french brass.  Makers marks can usually be found on the...
