Beautiful antique tea caddy. 9th century, black lacquer decorated in gilt with Chinese temple and lush garden scenes, the shaped domed hinged lid opens to an interior with two pewter tea caddies, the box is raised on four claw feet.
5.5" tall x 8.5" wide x 6" deep
Losses of lacquer to edges and lower sides on the backside; missing key; pewter tea containers have pushes and some dents; wood is a little warped so that lid doesn't fully close.
