- The Franklin Mint
The 1975 Christmas Ingot, "The Open Sleigh," is the sixth in an annual series of holiday ingots minted by The Franklin Mint. Designed by David Bonner and sculptured by Anthony Jones, it is issued in limited edition. The ingots are dated and hallmarked, and the design for each year will never be minted again.
The beautifully detailed bas-relief sculpture depicts two of the guests arriving for a merry 19th-century holiday festivity. They are seen through the window of a room decorated with a Christmas Tree and softly glowing candles.
On the reverse of the ingot is a guarantee of its silver content and the purity of the silver.
It is recommended that you handle the ingot as seldom as possible to help preserve its fine proof finish. When you do pick it up, always be careful and hold it only by its edges. Any fingerprints and smudges can be removed with a soft cloth or tissue.
